It's 4:30 a.m. -- a time of day that I would rather sleep through, but I'm often up because Olivia is awake and uncomfortable. I usually get up to change her position and lie awake in my bed to see if she is able to go back to sleep. She seems quiet now, but I wonder for how long.
The week that we had the meet & greet with the base pediatrician we had appointments with the doctor that has been seeing them since we've lived in MD. Jack needed a physical for CubScout Camp, and Olivia needed a prescription for a new type of nutritional supplement. She has been drinking Pediasure for almost 2 years, but because of her weight loss from the surgery we wanted to get her something with more calories. After a great deal of frustration, the new drink (Boost Essentials for Kids 1.5 cal) has been ordered and delivered. Unfortunately Liv is not a huge fan. I had hoped she would drink it quickly and the weight would just pile back on, but that's not happening. It's still a struggle to get her to drink. :(
Also this blog entry marks the official change of Pediatrician. I know that the base pediatrician's nurse will provide a great deal of support for us, because she has a child with special needs as well. I'll take Olivia in for a weight check in July to see if the new drink has made a difference. I pray that it will.
It's now 4:45 and she's still quiet. I'm headed back to bed!
