The plan for pain medicine is working! They are ready to transition from the iv pain meds and begin giving her liquid medicines that can go through her g-tube. She had been on iv morphine (drip), ketamine(drip) and Tylenol in addition to as needed morphine no more than every 2 hours. Now she is off the morphine drip and the as needed is every 3 hours. They have changed her to oxycodone (liquid) every 6 hours, will keep her on the ketamine and tylenol.
She may be moved to the floor tonight. Her heart rate was up in the 140s,but is now 102. She is sleeping and seems to be getting some good rest.
One of our bigger concerns at home has been tolerating food at home. She hasn't had her formula re-introduced, but she is tolerating pedialyte.
In comparison to her surgeries at Walter Reed & Bethesda her progress is equal to day 4 or 5 post-op there. Praise God that she is doing so well!!!
This is a Scripture that I had hoped to share yesterday:
Psalm 2:5 Find rest,O my soul,in God alone;my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock,my refuge.
I will update again soon.
