It is 12 a.m., and this is the first chance I've had to blog after Olivia went to the pediatric floor. Things went well, and everything looked good throughout the day. Olivia's pain was completely controlled by the caudal block until around 3 p.m., then she was given Tylenol. It worked pretty well until around 7 p.m. The nurse thought it would be best to give her something stronger, so her serious pain meds were started at 8, which is around when the caudal block wore off.
Dave stayed at the hospital with Olivia tonight. Only one of us could stay, and since Mom and my sisters are here, (Jack & Robin were with them) I thought it would be a good idea for me to come back with the kids. He said that her pain was pretty bad around 10 and they gave her some more meds. Her heartrate was still up, so he's not convinced she's all the way through it. It migght be a tough night for her. I hope Dave gets some sleep, because if he's able to sleep, that means Olivia is really getting some rest.
God was really with us today. He'll be there with her & Dave tonight.
Sorry this isn't longer, or more detailed, but I need to get some sleep. The doctor said Olivia is able to come home as soon as we can get comfortable with her pain management. It could be as soon as tomorrow (Friday).
