We have the time

Thankfully I was able to call this morning to get Olivia's time for tomorrow. She will have to be at the hospital at 5 a.m., and the procedure will begin at 7 a.m. I believe the procedure will take about 3 hours, and then we'll be able to be with Olivia. I really hope the surgeon is more of a morning person than I am!

We will not get to DC until at least 8 p.m. tonight. We have a very important stop to make at Build-a-Bear Workshop to get a companion for Olivia, all dressed in hospital garb. If they have it, the plan is to also get a wheelchair.

I have a lot to do still: packing, checking the list, washing clothes, checking the list, setting up the DVD player in the car, checking the list, etc. Thank goodness for lists! I'll be surprised if I forget something we need.

My mom, sister & niece made it to DC last night. They are staying with Jack & Robin. My mother-in-law arrived here yesterday. She is going to look after the dog, fish, and the house. Hopefully the dog doesn't run away. She escaped from our friends that kept her while we took Olivia to the Pre-op. We found her 4 days later on the base. Interestingly enough, she didn't need an ID card to get on the base!

I don't expect to get much sleep tonight, but I will be praying that the doctor and hospital staff get a good night's sleep. One of my devotional readings for today included the scripture, "Now may the God of peace...equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight. - Hebrews 13:20-21" I will be praying that scripture for the doctor, specifically.

These are some other scriptures that I am clinging to today:
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Luke 22:25-26 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Luke 5:17-26 One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today."

------

I believe whole-heartedly that when I ask, my sins are forgiven. Why would I doubt God's will would be done with this surgery?!

I will try to post tomorrow or ask my sister to post for me.

One last scripture: Acts 12: 5-14 talks about the church who "earnestly prayed" for Peter when he was in prison, and when Peter was released he went to Mary's house "where many people were gathered and were praying". God heard the prayers, and Peter was released. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=51&chapter=12&version=31

Thank you for earnestly praying.
Sara
