Change of Plan... But It's For the Best

Today is the 6th day after surgery. Dr. Todd's recommendation for the cast was compelling. Most of Olivia's pain yesterday occured when we moved her. Dr. Todd said that if we put the cast on her, she will have support that she needs and it will help her heal better. We weighed the decision, and she had it put on this afternoon. It is from just above the knees to about an inch below her armpits. She will only have to have it on for three weeks. I am glad that it's not as long as we thought it would be.

We will be able to adjust her carseat so she can ride home safely. Her wheelchair is also versatile enough for her to use it so we won't have to rent one. I am very glad about that!

Liv's pain is pretty well managed. She is still taking Tylenol with Codeine, but she hasn't needed Morphine since yesterday at 5 p.m. Dr. Todd thinks she's ready to go home with the medicine she has now. We are okay with that, and we're looking forward to getting her into her own bed. If everything works out, we may make it home tomorrow night.

  1. Dear Olivia, Sara and Family, The Children's Choir misses Liv, Jack and Robin but know that God is there by your side. We will glorify God and honor Liv as we practice tonight, "This Little Light of Mine". Please let us know how we can be of help. Blessings and love, Pam
