Going Home as of 12:50 p.m.

This morning I rode up in the elevator with Dr. Todd. He said he thinks things are set for us to go home today. I wasn't able to tell him how Olivia did last night, because I hadn't talked to Dave.

When I got to the room Dave said that the Ortho resident, Dr. Flint, had already been in. He told Dave they would be back to discharge us. It's been a while (7+ hours) since he said that. I am sure they are in surgery today, so it's hard to tell when they'll be here.

Olivia's pain has been well managed with just the Tylenol w/ Codeine, and she is resting right now. That is definitely a good thing, since we plan to head to Leonardtown when we get out of here. We were supposed to have an appointment tomorrow at 7:45 but Dr. Todd said we could cancel that and come back in 2 weeks. That is scheduled for Friday, May 8 @ 11:15 a.m.

One of the biggest concerns that we had with the spica cast is how to transport Olivia home from the hospital. Dave brought her car seat up from the car, and thankfully she is able to fit in it with just a few adjustments. We have a friend from church that is on the volunteer ambulance squad, and said if we need him to pick us up, he could get a crew to bring her home. I just called him to let him know he's off the hook. I am so glad that we have so much support for Olivia.
