For today, though, I will let you know that Olivia is doing pretty well. Dr. Todd came in today and reminded us that this is really recovery day 3, because surgery day doesn't count. He said that we were doing a great job moving her around and he is glad we're not intimidated by the surgery. He said there are some kids that he has to actually move them himself because their parents are afraid to do it.
Olivia slept really well last night. She had more sleep last night than she has since Tuesday night of last week, combined. I woke her up to give her some applesauce with her breakfast and she watched some TV, and actually laughed. I got some good pictures of her, but I am using Kelly's laptop and I can't download the pictures onto here.
I prayed for Olivia last night, because she had been given all of the medicine that she supposed to have before bedtime, and was still fussy. I went over to her bed, knelt down beside her, and lay my hands on her to pray to ask God for help. This was my prayer:
"Father God, The medicine she has been given is not enough. I don't know
what more to do, the doctors have done all that they think she needs, but it is
not enough. I am certain that there is a purpose for this journey. I
know if I ask, and it's within Your will, then you will allow it. Lord, I
ask that you allow Olivia to sleep tonight... she is so tired. Allow her
pain to subside so she can rest. I need sleep, Lord. She needs
sleep, but I cannot even lie down until she's sleeping. You are the only
one who has the power to stop this. I believe you can. Please, let
it be your will. In Jesus' name, Amen."
By the time I said, "In Jesus' name" she was sleeping. Praise GOD!!!
Your prayers are working. Thank you!
