They took her back

Just wanted to let you know that they have taken Olivia back to begin the anesthesia. They plan to do the epidural, and will monitor her fluids, heart-rate, breathing and try to determine if she's in pain during the surgery.

Dave and I went to Dunkin Donuts in the lobby of the hospital to get a breakfast sandwich and some coffee. If there is a good part about doctor's appointments here, Dunkin Donuts is it!

The waiting room has 9 recliner chairs, several arm chairs, two computers, a fax machine, a table and a television. Thankfully no one has anything on that will keep me from taking a nap when I finish writing this entry. There is also a telephone here that is used to receive calls from the OR. The nurse that is in the room with Liv will call when they begin the actual surgery and every two hours afterward.

Dr. Todd said that his part of the surgery should take 4-6 +/- hours. He had her most recent x-rays, and said that his plan is to still just do the leg bones. He will do what is needed, but nothing more than is required.

She will be put in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit here for tonight to have better monitoring.
It's a scheduled thing, so nothing to be alarmed about.

I'll continue to post as I hear from the OR.
